Education never quite clicked with Alex. He found school to be a labyrinth of irrelevance and even managed to dodge dreaded PE classes with cleverly crafted notes from his supportive mom. His exam results mirrored his lack of enthusiasm for the system, except for a surprising C in math.
Believe it or not, this very same Alex, who received a disappointing U in IT, now wields the power of code like a wizard. He’s the mastermind behind bespoke software for none other than McDonald’s UK & Ireland—the iconic burger chain—and has his hands full with other exciting client projects as well.
Curious how he transformed from a GCSE failure into a coding prodigy, leaving even seasoned web developers in awe? We were too.
After a rocky start in college pursuing a course he despised, Alex made a pivotal decision: he switched paths and embarked on a journey that would shape his future.
Prepare to be amazed by Alex’s relentless work ethic…
He has a trophy case overflowing with accolades, including titles like “Student of the Year,” “Employability Award,” and “Outstanding Student.” Not to mention his impressive showings in the World Skills competition—making it to the semi-finals not once, but twice! Unfortunately, a minor mishap with deleted work cost him a higher placement the second time around.
And let’s not forget his mind-boggling feat of completing three months’ worth of web development coursework in a mind-blowing three weeks whilst studying at college. Oh, did we mention he somehow even managed to achieve a first-class on his final-year project at University, with next to no sleep, as he was also working full-time nights at Tesco while attending university during the day. Talk about dedication! Alex gives it his all, no questions asked. And he continues to do so right here at Red Box.
Fresh out of university, Alex wasted no time showcasing his expertise at Red Box, earning the respect of both clients and colleagues alike. Thanks to a company shake-up, he even had the opportunity to return to his hometown of Grimsby, where he now tirelessly toils away from the crack of dawn, even before the birds find their voices.
When he’s not busy crafting code, you’ll find Alex immersing himself in the world of gaming, savouring mouthwatering burgers (hint: he has a favourite brand), or escaping into the captivating realm of Manga books, where he finds solace and relaxation.
Without a doubt, Alex is an invaluable asset to our team and his clients. It’s just a shame we don’t get to enjoy in-person catch-ups as often as we used to. But rest assured, his extraordinary contributions speak volumes.
