The great news for many business owners is that you don’t need to be even slightly creative to get a fabulous website design.

You have the knowledge of your business, your customers, your products or services, and we know how to utilise that information and build it into a fantastic-looking website, that will achieve your goals, with minimal effort from you or your team.

And here is how we do that…

  • First and foremost we need to understand your business, what it stands for, your history, your mission, vision and values. We can’t portray you without this information and back story.
  • We want to understand your industry, your competitors and your ideal client’s persona.
  • A full brief of your services or products is needed, including features, benefits, the problems they solve, timescales, and the processes and steps your customers have to take to purchase your offerings, as well as what aftercare you provide.

We now know a lot about you and your business. During this process, we have also been gathering information on your business style and image. Are you a fun and bubbly business or a professional more serious organisation? If we have visited your premises this again gives us great insight into your company. This allows us to get a better understanding overall, which we can incorporate into your design.

In an ideal world, you will be able to provide us with your brand guidelines (a document that lays out the style, font, format, colours and images that portray your business) as well as a company logo. Some small businesses don’t have access to these, but don’t worry we can help create those too!

Discussions are had to determine the critical areas we need to highlight on the website and together we agree on a suitable site map (layout of the number of pages) you will have on your site. We always consider your ideal customer’s journey to ensure your website is easy to navigate, we don’t want anyone getting lost!

Now, it is time for our expert graphic and web designers to get to work on the design and layout of your home page. This is often the first page your customers land on and there is key information we need to get across quickly using text and images to ensure they know:

  • Who you are
  • What you do

During the website design process, you are kept fully aware of our progress and will receive regular updates, the first main one being when your home page is ready to view! This is one of the most exciting parts of your design experience and we want you to be wowed by the design. Don’t be afraid to give us your feedback at this point. We will work with you to get this page looking amazing before we even consider building the rest of your site. Only after you are completely happy with your home page design will we then move on to create the additional pages following the same process.

A word of caution

Changing your content repeatedly throughout the design stages will not only drag out the website process and delay your website launch, but it can impact the design and layout of each page, causing designers to literally go back to the drawing board. We recommend you check, check and check again your content prior to sending it to us to be added to the design. Pass it to friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances… get their feedback, do your research and include your relevant keywords, but if in any doubt we strongly recommend using a copywriter that can do this for you. We can even include copywriting in your website cost if you prefer.

The end is in sight

So, your home page is complete, the rest of your site is signed off and we will complete a complex round of testing to ensure everything works perfectly, looks amazing and is vitally… mobile friendly and compatible with various web browsers and devices. This can be a little frustrating to wait those extra few days but failure to do this properly will lead to errors, and that’s the last thing you want your ideal client to see!

And finally, its launch day…. you can tell the world, share your site on your social media and celebrate the first step in your website’s success. Congratulations!!

There’s more to a successful website however than launching it on the web. You need to be found. Need help…get in touch
